Fall 2026
Workshops

Fall is the perfect time to make something move, build a world, or bring a story to life. This season, Corrugated Universe is offering three hands-on workshops: Make Things Move, where cardboard meets motors, sensors, and programming; Build Your Own Toy Theatre, where you create a miniature stage and the characters to inhabit it; and The Corrugated Kingdom, where you’ll enter a tabletop world of adventure, imagination, and making. Different projects, different possibilities—all designed to get curiosity out of your head and into your hands.

Make Things Move!
with Toby Morgan-Thomas

Wednesday

September 16 – December 16

We’ll create things that move, light up, make sounds, and respond using cardboard, motors, servos, LEDs, sensors, and speakers. Along the way, we’ll experiment with Micro:bit and Hummingbird boards, as well as visual programming to bring our creations to life. All materials and equipment are provided and used during class, but projects and materials stay at Corrugated Universe. Supplied for use in class: Micro:bit card Hummingbird bit Chromebook for drag-and-drop programming in MakeCode Sensors, motors, servos

Build Your Own Toy Theater
with Aubrey Clowndinst

Tuesday & Thursday

September 17 – November 22

Come learn how to expand your Cardboard Universe in a BIG way...well, big on a miniature scale. Take some of your first steps into the world of puppetry by making your own toy theater and paperboard puppets. Don't let the small scale fool you, though--these little theaters have been used for centuries not only as toys but also as a way theatre professionals would communicate their ideas for grand scale shows and operas before we had computers to make scale models. Plus, they have been used by puppet professionals to make all manner of miniature mayhem.

The Corrugated Kingdom
with Elliott Cancio-Bello

Friday

September 18 – December 18

Join your fellow adventurers and enter The Corrugated Kingdom—our very own tabletop role-playing game! Create your own character, develop their skills and attributes, build the world they’ll explore, and even 3D-print your character using Hero Forge. Then it’s time to suit up, light the torches, and map the vast underground network of tunnels that runs throughout the kingdom!

“My daughter spent an entire day creating and socializing, working with peers to construct different art projects and in the community. “A day drop in” turned into attending the rest of the week. We are all so happy with this gem added to our downtown!”

Wait what about the grownups?

Every adult who walks in says the same thing: “I wish there was something like this for me.” There is. Adults need creative play just as much as kids. Making with your hands—builds skills, sparks curiosity, and creates real connection. Especially alongside other adults who are there to learn and experiment. Check out one of our Adult BYOB Unsupervised Making nights.

Coming soon: Sip and craft nights!
